Choose Your Blessing in 2010!

We can choose how much we will be blessed in this New Year.

Psalm 1: Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD ; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

As it says in verse one, we can choose who we listen to, where we stand and where we sit. There are blessings in just making choices to turn to God and turning away from wrong.
As it says in verse two, we can choose how much we think on and delight in God’s Word.
Verse three gives the wonderful promise as we goes God’s Way! God stands behind His Word as we are doers of His Word.

In this New Year, we can choose to be rewarded by God in three ways.

1. We can be givers into the work of God and we can be givers to those in need around us.

Matt 6:3-4 But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 that your charitable deed may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly.*

2. We can pray in secret and trust God to answer in public.

Matt 6:6 But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.*

3. We can fast in secret and trust God to make a way for us in public.

Matt 6:17-18 But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, 18 so that you do not appear to men to be fasting, but to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.*

Through everything we keep our eyes on our Lord Jesus Christ, the author and finisher of our faith!

Heb 12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
